On December 20, 2025, the Chinese Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Alumni Association of Asia Metropolitan University successfully organized the "Riding the Wind to Set Sail, Jointly Painting a New Blueprint" Welcome Ceremony for the year 2026 at the Triumph Palace International Conference Center of Zhuhai Haiquan Bay Resort. Alumni, faculty and student representatives, as well as guests from various sectors across the country gathered together to participate in this grand event that combined academic exchange, cultural performances, and an annual celebration.


A New Chapter Begins, Wisdom Powers the Future


The grand ceremony officially commenced with the splendid intangible cultural heritage performance of "Eight Stools, Ascending Step by Step" and an auspicious lion dance.

Dr. Xu Yanping, Director of the China Representative Office of Asia Metropolitan University and President of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Alumni Association, delivered the opening speech. Tracing the growth journey of the alumni, she affectionately reviewed the development of the Asia Metropolitan University alumni community from its inception to its flourishing state, extending sincere tribute to every alumnus who has continuously strived for excellence through perseverance and demonstrated responsibility through dedication. In her address, Dr. Xu particularly emphasized that the alumni community is not only the most vivid embodiment of the university's spirit but also a crucial link connecting academia with society and tradition with innovation.


Vice Chancellor Dato Dr. Annuar M. Saffar of Asia Metropolitan University shared the latest milestones in the university*s development during his address: the number of alumni in China has officially exceeded 6,500, and the university has relocated to a modern new campus equipped with advanced facilities and a beautiful environment. He encouraged the alumni present to commit to lifelong learning and welcomed MBA graduates to further their studies by pursuing doctoral programs at the university, working together to enhance the institution*s academic influence.



Prestigious Appointment, Flourishing Academia



The ceremony reached a significant moment〞the Appointment Ceremony for Specially Appointed Professors of Asia Metropolitan University. President Dato Dr. Annuar M. Saffar personally presented letters of appointment as visiting professors to Professor Guo Zining, Professor Xu Yanping, and Professor Zhang Haidong. This appointment marks a key initiative by the university to continuously strengthen its academic think tank and deepen intellectual connections with various sectors of society. The addition of these three professors will inject fresh and robust momentum into the university's disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and international cooperation. It signifies a solid step forward for Asia Metropolitan University in building a high-level academic community and serving social development.


A Moment of Honor, Uniting Strength


Dr. Chen Wuzhou, Executive Vice President of the Asia Metropolitan University Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Alumni Association, delivered a speech on behalf of the association. The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of appointment letters to the newly elected council members of the association, and more than thirty alumni who made outstanding contributions to the organization of this grand event were honored with the "Most Supportive Award." Additionally, the presentation of the "Gold Medal Sales Award" for the charity auction once again highlighted the philanthropic passion of the Asia Metropolitan University community.


Artistic Excellence, Luck in the Air


The gala dinner featured multiple dazzling segments, where captivating performances and exciting prize draws intertwined in perfect harmony. Zhang Zhe, champion of The Voice of China Guangdong Division, warmed hearts with his soulful rendition of "Let the Light In." The performance team from Haiquan Bay mesmerized the audience with their graceful dance "A Hundred Dances, Elegant as a Startled Swan." MBA alumnus Fan Chuanhu showcased the power and precision of Chinese martial arts, while representatives from the doctoral programs delivered a moving collective recitation of "Returning from Battle to Study." Dr. Tong Jiayi's hauntingly beautiful solo performance of "Wilderness" on the Tadi flute added an ethereal touch to the evening. Amid the thrilling multi-round prize draws, an array of generous gifts〞from wellness products and premium home goods to cultural and artistic items〞were joyfully awarded, culminating in the grand finale: the announcement of a coveted full-time doctoral placement at Asia Metropolitan University, which brought the atmosphere to a thrilling peak.To conclude, all attendees joined together in singing "Red Sun," their impassioned voices heralding a bright future. 


The grand ceremony drew to a perfect close with the heartfelt and melodious strains of "Blessings" and a full-group photo. This event not only strengthened the bonds among alumni but also marked the launch of a new journey for the university's development. Asia Metropolitan University will continue to join hands with all faculty, students, and alumni, riding the winds of the times to collectively chart a new blueprint for progress.
